Mission Statement

The Humane Society is a private non-profit organization that has been in operation since 1986.  We are incorporated under the laws of the state of Georgia as “The Humane Society of Camden County, Inc.”  We receive no government monies and have no affiliation with any national organization.  We operate a selective admission shelter.  We do not take in stray animals.  

The objective of the Humane Society is to assist in finding and placing in new homes specially selected owner surrendered animals; to encourage kindness to and consideration of animals through education of the public and any other ethical means.

The Humane Society is for “those who cannot speak for themselves.”

Hours of Operation

Beginning August 14, 2023, our shelter is open Monday through Saturday from 11:00am to 5:00pm.  We are closed on major holidays.
