Come and visit… your new best friend is waiting!
Because we value your support of the Humane Society of Camden County, Inc. (HSCC), we want to make sure you are aware of two important facts about how we care for the community’s homeless animals:
1) One hundred percent of your donation to the HSCC goes to the care of our animals and the operation of the shelter. We are a local, private, non-profit corporation. We do not receive funding from the Humane Society of the United States, the American Humane Society, PETA, ASPCA, or any other animal organization.
2) We are an “open door” animal shelter, which means that we accept every domestic animal that comes through our doors, regardless of age, breed, health, or personality. We do not cherry pick the animals we accept, like many of the so called “no kill” shelters do. We welcome every animal in need: young or old, sweet or grumpy, perfect or imperfect.
Because our doors are always open, every year thousand of dogs and cats are rescued from our streets by animal control officers and private citizens, or relinquished by their owners, and brought to the HSCC. These circumstances leave us with a large number of animals in need of food, care and homes. Our dedicated and compassionate shelter staff, board and volunteers work tirelessly to help our animals find new furever homes. There is no limit to the amount of time an animal can remain adoptable at the HSCC shelter. We also transport animals to other shelters that are in need of adoptable animals, utilize rescue groups, and foster parents.
Please help us continue our important work by making a donation today. Open your heart by partnering with the HSCC, volunteer your services, open your door to one of our beautiful animals. Save a life and make yours better.
