What happens to the information you share with us through this website.
The short version
We are a small animal shelter, not a marketing company. We do not sell, rent or trade your information to anyone, and we do not use it for anything other than the reason you gave it to us.
What this site collects
Browsing these pages does not require you to tell us anything. We do not run advertising trackers on this site.
Some pages link out to forms hosted in our shelter management software, and to PayPal for online donations. When you use those, you are submitting information to that service, and their own privacy terms apply to what you enter there. We see the submissions that reach our staff queue — an adoption pre-screening application, a surrender request, a lost or found pet report, an employment application — and we use them only to do the thing you asked us to do.
Donations
Online donations are processed by PayPal. We do not receive or store your card details. If you donate by check or in person, we keep the record we need for our accounting and for acknowledging your gift.
Donor recognition
Paw Partners and other donors are sometimes recognized by name in our newsletters and materials. If you would prefer to give anonymously, just tell us — call 912-729-7141 or email hscc@tds.net and we will leave your name off.
Children
This site is not directed at children. Junior volunteers aged 12 to 17 apply through a parent or guardian.
